Todays thought...My brother.

So call it the drunken stupor right now or what ever but I'm inspired at the moment to write a quick story about my brother. 2 reasons I know he's supposed to be on this earth.

Reason 1: When my brother was 3 years old we were at a family trip with our camper. We were with friends and family. My brother proceeds to fall face first into the fire. Now, I remember screaming and then I remember my dad being right there, reaching into the flames and pulling my brother out of the camp fire. So while he pulls him up and out, I notice white doves. And it strikes me as odd because these doves fly out of the flames that my brother had just been in. My daddy pulls him out and there is not a single singed hair on his head that has been so much as singed. Now my brother had fallen into the fire and was in there for at least 5-10 seconds before my dad pulled him out.

Reason 2: My brother and I are on a dock when we were younger. I think my brother was 6 or 7 by this time. I go to walk past him and he is in my way. I proceed to walk but am closer to him than I realize and I proceed to push him off the dock and into the St. Claire River in Michigan. Now for those of you not from Michigan let me explain, this is a river that has a constant under tow and if you fall in kiss your ass good-bye. So he falls in. I was taught when someone falls in that you scream "Man Overboard". So I proceed and my dad jumps in the river and alas, my brother is saved again. By my daddy. I haven't even thought about that.

Anyway, getting off point here. Regardless. My brother is supposed to be here for something. So I love ya bro. Hang in there. You know you're family and I always got your back bro. Love Ya!

Todays thought...Political correctness...

Ok so this is a pretty touchy subject in the norm. But I just have to put this out there. Most of you know that I am Republican. I know, I know. Political bureaucracy and what not gets my mojo going and when something really irks me I have to put it out there, so that's all this is.

Ok so those of you who know me (More some than others) know that I love the Disney Channel. Call me a big kid at heart, whatever. But the last thing I want to see when I'm watching my shows (Especially my CARTOONS) is when you are watching an episode and low and behold, they throw PC crap right in your face! I have 2 examples of this. I love the Disney Show The Replacements. Great cartoon. Well the other night (Now mind you I was half asleep) the daughter gets kidnapped by the evil doer right? Ok so his evil plan is to melt all the ice in the far north and far south and do something with the water or something. So anyway the daughter starts arguing with him about the fact that if he did it would cause a major climate shift and blah, blah, blah same Global Warming crap we've been hearing about in forever. Right? Ok so he gets mad at her because of the logical sense she's making and then she goes...in the cartoon mind you..."Whats the matter? Is the truth a little too inconvenient for you?" Ok right there I was like - Skerch! Beep, beep, beep, beep. Back up a second. Little chica just said what!?

I also happen to like a little show that comes on Saturday mornings called Johnny and The Sprites. Cutest show you'd see. Definitely for kids but hey, you're talking about me here. LoL. Ok so regardless here I am watching it this morning and Johnny has sprayed something for his garden or something. I was half asleep this morning. So anyway something he sprayed made "the plants, the water and the air sick." So they proceed to summon Mother Nature who goes on to say that we can all help to clean up our planet.

Come on people! That's like buying a porno and seeing a political add on there. (I don't know the recipe I'm just sayin!) And I guess in all honesty, the Johnny and The Sprites thing isn't too awful bad. It's no worse than when I grew up with Captain Planet. But honestly, the Replacements thing... REALLY FROST'S MY COOKIES! There are a lot of people out there that wouldn't get that reference anyway so why waste the time putting it in there? Honestly? Who cares? Now I'm not saying we shouldn't all do our part, but honestly, using Disney to try to make a point on a theory is tactless. Anyway, that's what I think.

This is a direct quote taken from http://www.joesherlock.com/blog.html -
He blogs on Monday April 14th and I have to admit his opinion is quite compelling. Please feel free to see what I mean.

True Character: Here's a touching and revealing story about John McCain in Slate - an excerpt from a 1997 New York Times Magazine profile on the Senator: "A nurse entered and seemed surprised to find anyone there, and it wasn't long before I found out why: Almost no one visits anymore. In his time, which was not very long ago, Mo Udall was one of the most-sought-after men in the Democratic Party. Yet as he dies in a veterans hospital a few miles from the Capitol, he is visited regularly only by a single old political friend, John McCain." (hat tip - Tom McMahon)

Here's an entirely different character story ...

They Call Me Mister Condescension: Last week, Barack Obama uttered something very revealing: "You go into some of these small towns in Pennsylvania, and like a lot of small towns in the Midwest, the jobs have been gone now for 25 years and nothing's replaced them. And they fell through the Clinton administration, and the Bush administration, and each successive administration has said that somehow these communities are gonna regenerate and they have not. So it's not surprising then that they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Is it just me, or does this piss anyone else off but me? Ok first off, since when is Pennsylvania in the Midwest Poindexter!? Second off, where does he get off implying that we as American citizens are bitter because of people who aren't like us!? Isn't that what the terrorists that bombed the US did that for? Because they were bitter toward people who weren't like them? We didn't believe like they did? You don't see us as American citizens going around blowing things up to show our frustrations as Mr. Obama is so well implying! Why do we cling to guns? Because it's people like that who let everyone else on this earth run all over us American Citizens.

What happened to the original founding principals that made this country great? Chew on that!

That's all I have to say for now.

Todays thought...stresses of the world.

How is it that 2 people can fall in love and work their butts off to build a home and a life for themselves and everything on paper seems great, but then you get down to it. Life is rough. It's a struggle. And then the economy comes in there and kicks ya right in the balls.

Like for instance gas prices. You know my husband and I got an F-150. He got it for me for Christmas 2 years ago. Back then, gas was $1.96/gallon and with 2 incomes coming in, it wasn't all that bad. We were able to buy a house, a little bit of property and we were ok.

And then the gas hit over $3 a gallon. Now, we spend a little under $1k in gas to get back and forth to work for a month. Thats more than a house payment! We have family all over the country and we can't hardly see them because we can't afford gas. And saving money? What's that!? There's a snowball's chance of that happening! We can barely make it from paycheck to paycheck with the way it is now. And our raises at work. Hah! We haven't started making $2/hr more in the last 2 years, but the gas has sure gone up $2/gallon! Where does it end people? When will we be able to support our families, and put gas in the tank?

Why does it have to be such a struggle for my husband and I to just make it day to day? He kills himself trying to make sure our bills are paid and I don't know anyone who doesn't have a second job any more. Everyone wants to know why there are no jobs in America. WAKE UP! There's no jobs because the lazy people refuse to go out and get one while they complain about no jobs, when the working man goes out there and they take 2 part timers, and fill that full time position that you were complaining about you didn't want or didn't get for whatever reason! Grow up, take the reins and get the job! Believe me, if we can all get a part time job flippin burgers so we can make our bills, guess what, you can get the full time job!

That's all I have to say for tonight. Just a rantfest! Thanks for listening!

Todays thought...Update.

Ok so a lot of my thoughts lately seem to be updates. I know, I know. Sorry about that folkses. My life is just as busy as all gets out. I'm writing a book right now and with any luck will have it published. My husband has been extremely supportive of my writing. As well as a couple of my co-workers. One that sits beside me in particular. My props go out to my religious friend. I will call him...Hmmm, what's a good name for ya? Lamb. I will call him Lamb. Lamb has had the daunting task of setting next to me at work listening to my ramblings.

I also have a new guard dog. His name is Turtle. He is a Beagle/Bird Dog mix and some parts of his body (Bless his little puppy heart) doesn't know if his fur is supposed to be long or short so he has most of his fur on his face short with a few stray long ones. His body is the same way I'm sure but it's harder to tell. Oh and he's got this little beard...ugh. Everyone falls in love with his big brown eyes. It's hard not to.

Anyway. Other than that its ok. Pooh Bear took the cuz and around looking at tornado damage from the area today. It was devastating. There were complete houses that were just gone. And my girl Murph is doing a lot better now. Honestly I don't know why I have been so protective over her lately. I mean it's not a bad thing, unless I'm overbearing Murph...in that case let me know. But honestly, she called me the other night and drunk or not I was ready to drive out and kick some guys butt that I didn't know because he messed with her. You don't mess with my friends or my family! I don't care who you are, if I find out you looked at them cross eyed I will find out about it and I will fault you for it!

Other than that its good. Craziness about my life definitely surrounds me but oh my gosh would it be boring or what if I wasn't surrounded with this Chaos! UGH! Anyway, life is life, the earth keeps spinning and time keeps ticking. Life is what you make it. So go out there and live it to the best of your abilities. Smile even when you hurt. You never know who needs it.

Holla peeps!

Todays thought...One of those days..or weeks..or well... you get the point!

So much has happened since I blogged last. So ok its been like 4 months. A lot has happened. My business partner has been injured. My full time job is still hanging in there. Lots of team changes and position changes. Nothing bad mind you. Always hesitant at first but nothing serious once all said and done. It just keeps changing. And hey, business is business and will always change, but I buck against it every time. Its just my thing.

One of my girls...I will call her Murph...is going through a major time with the loss of a loved one right now. I have so much pain inside for her because of what I went through with my grandpa when I lost him. And she's got the worse side of the whole deal. But, I can say, thankfully for her, she had a chance to see him once more before he passed, just as I did. As it was very sudden that she lost her family member, she still got to say good-bye.

Things like this make you realize just how short life is. And just how important it is to tell your loved one's that you love them. Because you never know. You never know! I hope this reaches to every heart weather hot or cold and you out there realize that life is short. Tell those you love, that you love them. Tell those you are mad at why you are mad. You may not ever have the chance again, and they may never know. I learned that the hard way too!

Thats all I have for tonight. Holla peeps!

Todays thought...Just a catch-up

Ok so things have been like totally crazy on this end. I swear, it has been one family gathering after another. Not that I am complaining, I love my family, but a quiet house is just what one needs after several weekends of company.

Life is still life and work is still work. Work sucks sometimes ya know? I am concidering going to work for a friend of mine. Nothing major, just something part time. I am a little scared at the thought of going into business though. Its a big step. Its nothing that I am going to decide on now, there is still a lot of negotiation to go into, however, I am definitely concidering.

Have you ever had one of those opportunities come up, that just felt right? It just felt like something that was right for you? This is one of those opportunities, and while it is going to take a lot of talking...and probably reassurance from my husband, I think I am going to go for it. Anyway, other than that, like I said, life is life and work is work. Nothing major to report. (Thank God above!) Thats about all for now.

Todays thought...Another rant

Ok I have just been informed of a commercial on the TV for a company that makes Khaki's involving "Making Things Right" with the Cable Guy. Lets just say that I have written a letter to this company. For those of you who don't know, both my brother and my husband are Communications Technicians for 2 separate cable companies in my area.

First off, it portrays the cable guy to be both beligerant and unprofessional. I know a lot of the guys that work in the cable field, mostly friends and family of my husband and my brother. None of them are that unprofessional. They do not drive up on your curb and they absolutely DO NOT tell you .. the customer .. that you are lucky that they are even there much less being late. You have no idea what they have to go through on a daily basis and if the cable guy is late to your house, there is most times a call and an extremely good explanation as to why they are late. Contrary to most misconceptions, cable guys as public servers are not late, to make your life hell. And if you have someting important that you need to get to like, oh I don't know, a recital for your daughter as portrayed in the commercial...RESCHEDULE THE DAMN THING AND MAKE IT TO THE RECITAL! IS YOUR CABLE THAT FREAKING SERIOUS? UNPLUG YOURSELF FROM THE TV ANYWAY! BE CONSTRUCTIVE WITH YOUR TIME!

Oh and then second off, the guys that are "upset" because the cable guy was both late and unprofessional these guys pull the ladder off the roof so that the cable guy can't get down and they commence to trying to "make a deal" with the cable guy. ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!???? What the Hell is that!? The guy is stranded on the roof. Oh, and then they show the cable guy threatening to kick the guys ass when he gets down off the roof. Ok...REALITY CHECK! My husband might kick your ass when he gets down off the roof, but he's not going to threaten you! And there is no telling him that oh you'll be back to put the ladder on the roof between the hours of 7-11 and will most likely be late like he was. No, at that point the supervisor would be called out, and they would probably black ball you from their services for ENDAGERING THE LIFE OF THE TECHNICIAN!

COME ON PEOPLE. THIS IS A VERY GROSS PORTRAYAL OF A COMMON MISCONCEPTION IN MOST EVERY DAY PEOPLE OUT THERE. THESE GUYS HAVE FAMILIES, THE HAVE HUSBANDS/WIVES, THEY HAVE KIDS, THEY HAVE PEOPLE TO GO HOME TO MOST OF THE TIME THAT ARE JUST AS FRUSTRATED AS YOU ARE BECAUSE GUESS WHAT, IF THEY ARE LATE GETTING TO YOU, THEY ARE LATE GETTING HOME! THEY ARE LATE FOR DINNER, THEY ARE LATE GETTING TO SPEND TIME WITH THEIR KIDS BEFORE BED TIME, THEY ARE LATE GETTING TO SEE THEIR HUSBANDS OR WIVES BEFORE THEY HAVE TO GET TO BED! HAVE A LITTLE RESPECT FOR THESE GUYS PEOPLE! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHATSOEVER WHAT THESE GUYS GO THROUGH ON A DAILY BASIS. YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT KIND OF TRAINING THEY GO THROUGH TO GET THE POSITIONS THEY ARE IN...INCLUDING HOW TO DEAL WITH A CUSTOMER, IRATE OR NOT! UGH! HAVE A LITTLE COMPASSION! YOU THINK THEIR JOBS ARE SO EASY?! WHAT, ALL THEY HAVE TO DO IS COME HOOK UP YOUR CABLE AND FIX THE PROBLEM? YOU GO OUT THERE AND GET THE JOB AS THE CABLE GUY! YOU DO THEIR JOBS. I GUARANTEE AFTER A WEEK OF TRAINING, YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DON'T WORK THERE!

Anyway, wanted to get that out! Holla!

Todays thought...Women and the war

Ok so some of the women out there are all against the war. You spout that its not right that our men are dying over there so that we can...what? For what? What are they dying for? Let me tell you.

They are fighting and yes at times dying, so that I can go to the store in the middle of the day, with a pair of cut off shorts and a tank top with sandals on my feet. They are fighting for my right to get dressed up and make up on to go out on a date with my husband. They are fighting for my right to vote, as well as my right to go to work every day to help support my family which is something that I love. I am proud to have that right....AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO! Some of you women out there cannot leave your house to go to the mailbox without "putting on your face". NONE of the women in Iraq, know what eye liner is, much less putting on their faces. Women in Iraq can't vote, they can't go out with even an ounce of skin showing. When they go grocery shopping they are supposed to wear 10lbs of clothing. To go to the store! They aren't allowed to voice their opinions on anything! So now I ask you, WHERE DO YOU GET OFF?!

Things I am sure you take for granted in your day to day lives. You have a drivers license for 1. You can yell and scream and call someone a bitch for taking your parking spot, without getting stoned or getting your arm chopped off. You can go out into public and smile. They have things in the store made for us women to be pretty. So that we can whiten our smiles, so that the public can notice your beautiful white teeth that have no enamel on them. You can entertain a guest at a kegger at your house. You can ask a guy out on a date. You are allowed to carry a cell phone, as well as yacking on it while driving down the road. I'm not gonna get started on that one again!

You can go to a department store and buy panties and a bra that match. There is a reason it is called Victorias Secret, and not Victorias Seclusion! You can have a girls night out with your best friends! You can have a weekend with the girls. You can go to the gym and work out. You can take a jog in the park. You can take your kids to the park. You can run your own business, be the president of a corporation, be the boss. You can be the one in charge. Not the one who's NEVER in charge. You can be a politician. Even one that accepts votes of dead people and convicted felons then tells everyone that its because your a black democrat and turn it into a racial thing instead of being upset that the votes were in there in the first place. You can have your opinion, and voice it, instead of having your opinion given to you. You can have a blog and write how you feel. You have access to the internet, and you can read how I feel, and make your own opinion of it. In Iraq, women can't come out of their own front doors without permission. They cannot go to war because they want to, they're not allowed to go to college, have friends, host Bridge parties while the husbands are at work, watch TV, listen to the radio...Do I need to go on?

In the end, it all comes down to the fact that as women in America, we can make changes in our lives, in our society, and in our world. Change is power. A power that has been far too long denied to the women of Iraq.

Today's thought...Just another rant.

Ok you know what really irritates me? WOMEN DRIVERS! Ok I am one and I have more consideration than most of these women out here. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT YOU ARE DOING! GET A FREAKIN HEADSET SO THAT YOU CAN CONCENTRATE ON WHAT YOU ARE DOING! AND STOP GETTING SO CLOSE TO MY BUMPER THAT I COULD FLICK A BUGER ON YOUR WINDSHIELD! BECAUSE ONE OF THESE DAYS...I'M GOING TO!

Ok here's another thing that is slightly disturbing. Ok I like to visit my friends profiles on myspace. I got on there playing around thinking about setting up an account and what do I see there on the front page? New people. And who would be one of the newest members of myspace? Hillary Clinton! I kid you not! It disturbs me that she is running for president. I am not above seeing a woman president in the house, but you know, why does it have to be her? First off...democrat. Ok don't get me started on that one. Second...She's already served her 8 years when her husband was in office because he was too busy playing around with interns to care about the nation! Woo he decreased the national debt. Ok I'll give him that...but where was he in '93 when Bin Laden said he would bring the towers down? Oh wait...Care to take that one Ms. L? Because something went down...but I don't think it was that. What happened to the middle class tax cut Mrs President? What happened to the universal health care? Its funny to me that the same figures he used to propose the middle class tax cut when he was running saying it was possible, were the same figures he used once in office, to say that it wasn't possible. Now lets talk about Bush. Ok so lets see. Tax cut for the middle classman. Hmm, a few years ago didn't we get the nice little tax return? Thank you Mr. Bush! And then ok we have the people who are upset because woo we've decreased the national debt. Big deal. Bush put his foot down and said ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! YOU MESSED WITH THE WRONG PRESIDENT NOW BUCKO! All of these people set here and say "I don't want this war... we need to bring our guys home". Ok but lets look at this shall we? Would you rather have us fighting over there, or would you have them fighting over here? Because lets face it people. If 1 man can walk into a college and kill 26 people with 2 guns, what in the world do you think that 50 terrorists can do? No bombs, just guns. Heaven forbid if we stay over there and let our democratic influences spread there and stop the terrorists where they are. That would just be terrible wouldn't it? I rest my case!

Ok I had other stuff to rant about, but that pretty much filled my thoughts for now. I will rant later when I can remember what the rest of them were. I bid you goodnight for now.

Holla!

Todays thought...Loss of more family.

So, I had to put my horse to sleep yesterday. She was 27 years old and her intestines had gotten twisted up. Now for those of you who do not know, most horses don't make it that long, so I was very lucky that I got an extra few years with her. And they were good years too. Up until she got sick she acted like a filly, running through the pasture, kicking and rearing up and playing. So this blog is dedicated to my appaloosa mare.

I first brought her home 12 years ago. She was bought from a couple that did not really know enough about horses. Long story short, she'd been beaten with a 2x4. We didn't realize this until she blew her winter coat one year and she had white fur come up where she'd been hit on the rump with the 2x4's. The day we brought her home we walked her around the property and she laid down on the ground. That is a very rare thing for a horse to do, first thing. Our friend that helped us buy her told us that she was really comfortable here.

So here's me the next night. Totally green about owning a horse, I didn't have the first clue. I went out to see her the next night and my idiot self, left the gate open. Not very far, but enough that curiosity got the best of her and she ventured out into the back yard. And then into the front yard, and managed to find herself on the back porch. When my mama got up the next morning, she came in and got me and told me that I had left the gate open the night before. She knew this of course because of my mare being at the back door. I freaked expecting my first horse to be gone. I ran out of my bedroom, down the hall and blasted out the back door not expecting to have this horse on my back porch. Needless to say, when I got out there, she had a look and whinnied at me as if to say "Come on. Its breakfast time. I'm hungry!" So, of course she followed me back into the pasture, and stood there in her stall, patiently waiting fo her breakfast.

A few weeks had past and I was determined, I was going to learn how to saddle her up, and ride. So I went outside when my mama went to work, and started. She stood there ever so nicely as I brought out the saddle. She knew I had no clue what I was doing. So I put the saddle blanket on her, drug the 40 lb. saddle out with me, put it up on the post that I had set up for it and tried my darndest to figure out what went where and how I was going to manage this.

She was tied very lightly on the barn and there was a lot of slack in the line. So I finally get everything figured out, throw the stirrup and the girth up on the saddle, pick it up, and go to gently set it up on her back. To my frustration, she decides to side step and the saddle falls to the ground. She snickered as to laugh at me and go Neener neener. So I picked up the saddle, and set it on her back carefully, and then commenced to strapping on the girth, which was a task in itself with her help.

I get the girth fastened to the other side of the saddle with ease. I'VE GOT IT! Or so I thought. So I walk her around for a little bit, away from the barn, got to get up in the saddle, put my foot in the stirrup and what happens? The saddle turns to the side? Completely perplexed at the puzzle before me, I just don't undersand why on earth the girth was fastened but the saddle wasnt' staying on her back. She stands there in all of her wonder looking at me like "um, excuse me, fix please." So I walk her back to the barn, tie her up, fix the saddle, and try to figure out why it wasn't staying. As I walk back around, I see that my horse has taken a deep breath and was holding it. So of course, the girth was tight. Until she let her breath out. So she figures out shortly that I have learned of her deviousness.

Finally, after stopping and tightening 3 more times, I have it. The girth is tight, the saddle isn't moving, we're ready to go. So I jump on. I had ridden horse a few times before, and even had one spook on me, so I was comfortable in the saddle. We ride around the yard, I don't dare venture outside the fence and we get going good. She was responding really well to what I asked. We get turned back to the barn and I get her to running. I am so excited right now to feel the rush of a galloping horse, that I am not paying attention to her and she stops on a dime.

I am no where near ready for this, so what do I do? Yep, out of the saddle, up and over her head as she ducks, flat on my back in a mud puddle. I set there stunned for a moment trying to figure out what had just happened to realize, that I still have the reigns in my hand, and my horse is standing over me, face to face, laughing at me. Yep, she thought it was funny as everything.

Determined not to let this stop me, I get up, dust what mud I could off my butt, and climb back in the saddle. We go to riding again. Once again she gallops heading back toward the barn and this time I realize she's heading straight for the mud puddle. She stops on a dime again, but this time, I was ready for her tricks. I shoved my heels down, put my feet forward and when she stopped, I didn't move from that saddle. She took a deep breath, discustedly let it out, and we commenced to riding.

A few weeks later we were doing really good. She was still testing me at times, but nothing major. Until one day. She was trotting, and she tripped. Immediately I stopped her to make sure that she was ok, and walked to where she had tripped and could not find anything. No mole hole, no bumps in the land, nothing. So I check her foot. I hold it up, make sure there is nothing in there to make her foot ouchy and cannot find anything there either. So I get back on. A few minutes later, she trips again. Once again, I get down, check the land, check her foot, nothing. Once again, I get back on. She trips once more and I pay attention to her head. She looks back at me to see if I am going to get back off her this time. I realize her game, tell her to knock it off, she disgustingly sighs again and we go about our ride.

A few short minutes later, she goes to trotting, and coughs. I stop her. I give her a few minuts to take a breather and commence. She coughs again. Once more, I look to her face to see that she again is looking back around to me, to see what my reaction is going to be. I tell her once more to knock it off, she sighs disgustingly, and procedes. In one last attempt to deceive me, she coughs and trips at once. She stops, looks up at me, and I tell her that I know she's playing then and to knock it off.

She had the patience of Job with me. After that moment, we both connected. I started and dared to ride her bareback once. It was a good thing. I rarely used the saddle once I learned how to bareback ride. I remember one time, I was riding down the road and a UPS truck came down the road. I don't know if it was the deer whistles or the roar of the engine but something about it spooked her and she ran. Now as I said before, I had been on a spooked horse before. With a saddle. This time, she side steps, takes to running as most spooked horses do, and because I had just brushed her, I stayed in the same place. Then gravity took effect and down I went. But it was ok. My butt broke the fall to the ground! Instead of standing over me laughing at me this time though, she stopped dead in her tracks, turned around and sniffed me over and nudged at me to make sure I was alright.

Anyway, todays blog, I dedicate to you my friend. You helped me through a nasty divorce, you taught me a lot, and I will never forget you, nor could I ever try. I love you.

Todays thought...The world of Cochlear Implants

Ok so as most of you know, my mama has had a Cochlear Implant. I cannot tell you how proud I am. Well, she has a support group that meets a few times a year and I am thankful to say that I have been able to attend quite a few of these meetings with her.

Todays meeting was a discussion about the history of the Cochlear Implant and while on the topic the question came from the room as to why it is so hard to get an insurance company to approve dual implants...Or...one in each ear. Now it strikes me as funny in the sense that yes, the implants are expensive. However, tell me something, if you can hear, and have never had an issue hearing in the past nor do you now, how important is your hearing to you?

What is it worth to you, for you to have your hearing? $100 - $1,000 - $10,000...Or maybe even $100,000. What is what you are hearing right now, worth to you? If you heard for your entire life, and say you were in an accident, you hit a transformer and it exploded beside you. And you lived, but the explosion was so loud, that you lost your hearing completely. What would you think to be a fair amount to get your hearing back to where it was? What would it be worth to you? To hear birds chirping, or an approaching storm, or even a refrigerator running.

Or let me put it to you in a different kind of question. If you can hear, and you have been able to hear since birth, how would you explain hearing, to a person that is deaf? Go for it. Right now. Tell me, how would you explain the concept of hearing, to someone that has never heard anything in their life. I tell you what, the surgeon that did my mama's implant told me about a website. I checked it out today. I invite anyone else who is reading this to do the same thing. It shows you a little bit about what advances they have made in the science of hearing and will show you a little bit of what it is like to not hear, and then have the opportunity to hear and actually understand what you are hearing. It is the University of Texas Dallas program. The link is http://www.utdallas.edu/~loizou/cimplants/ and again...I invite anyone reading to take a look at this web-site. Read the tutorial. See what it is like. Better yet, challenge yourself. Plug your ears for a day. For 24 hours so that you cannot hear anything. See what you are missing. Then ask yourself the question...What is it worth to you to hear?

Thats all I have to say for todays blog. I recommend anyone taking a look at that site and see what you can learn from it.

Todays thought... Bikers

Man, Ok, why is it that no matter how small the road is, you are bound to run into a freakin biker? And I'm not talking about someone out for a liesurely stroll. I am talking about these pro bikers that are all practicing for some big race.

Ok now let me get one thing straight, first off, I am all about someone biking to better their lives. Don't get me wrong. If you like it and you are practicing for a big race, go for it. BUT DO IT ON A BIG ROAD! STOP PICKING THESE LITTLE ITTY BITTY ROADS THAT FIRST OFF ARE TOO SMALL FOR 2 CARS, MUCH LESS TOO SMALL FOR YOU TO BE PULLING OUT INTO THE ROAD WITH YOUR BIKE WHEN THE CAR COMING DOWN THE ROAD IN THE LANE YOU ARE BOTH TRAVELING WILL BE GOING 50mph WHEN YOU KNOW GOOD AND WELL YOU CAN'T GET YOUR BIKE GOING THAT FAST UNLESS YOU WERE GOING DOWN A 6% GRADE IN THE MOUNTAINS IN PA OR SOMETHING! GET A GRIP!

I mean, come on people, we have to respect you, you're on a bike! What kind of match would that be? But that doesn't mean you have to give us any reason to find out now does it? And another thing, I think that if you are going to use these roads and insist on using them instead of finding someplace that you safely do it without endangering your own lives much less the drivers of the cars. If you are on a road that is windy and curvey and hilly with no shoulder, word to the wise ... DONT RIDE ON IT! We can't see you when we top that hill going 45mph and you are likely going to cause us inadvertantly to do a break check and hope like the dickens that there is no one in the oncoming lane.

Further more, if you insist on riding on your bikes, on these roads and using them like you are able to and following the stop signs and stop lights as well as the speed limits, like you are entitled to, I think you should also be entitled to paying a wheel tax, just like the rest of us do.

Well, that's my rant for the night. I'm not saying I want you to stop riding if you do ride, I just wish you would show us drivers, the same respect that we both do and are expected to show you.

Todays thought...Just an update on a few things

First off I have decided that Saturn, will now be known as Ducky from here on out. Long story, but thats what I am going to call her. The other name change I will be making is Bellvue. I think I have mentioned her. But if not, she will now be known as Poker Chip. Also a long story. Anyway, moving on.

So, I got my truck back. It looks great. The place that did the job was right. Once it was finished you could not even tell that it had been in an accident. Sorry mailbox. Anyway.

Now lets get to the touchy subjects. Wars, politics, .. just kidding. However I will take this moment to discuss something. Everyone knows about the Amish shooting that took place in Pa this last week. Hits a little close to home because I have loved ones that live in the general vacinity. What irritates me even more is when Ducky calls me because while she was listening to Hannity&Colmes on her way to work and they were talking about what most everyone was and a lady got on the line talking about the fact that the Amish girls were not innocent and that they were going to protest at the funerals. Then it hits me.

Turns out that it is the same group that is protesting the funerals of the fallenn soldiers. Well thankfully for the Amish they are so far in the back woods that the idiots couldn't get to them and protest anything. You know what makes me so mad is the fact that they fancy themselves Christians and spout "The word of God" and yet they act like ... never mind. Just leave that to interpretation. How are you going to say you're a Christian and degrade a family and a community now and everything that they believe in. Oh, wait, I guess its because "God hates America" like they say. NOT! GROW UP PEOPLE! If God hated America so bad, then we wouldn't be here! Now would we? Lets see, great flood, plague of locusts ... shall I continue?

Get a grip people. There is a reason that no one wants you around! Get the picture?! Fortuantely for you, God is a very loving and forgiving God and can even see past your idioticness. Just remember, while you cast judgement on those you protest, as will you be judged when you meet your maker.

And that's all I have to say on that. I guess thats about all I have to say for tonight. Not too much else going on here. Few things here and there in the works but don't want to jinx anything so I will bid you a good night and be on my way. Holla!

Todays thought...Dodge

Ok, so by now everyone knows that my truck is back in the shop. So first off we drop the truck off and the rental car place doesn't even have a car waiting. Now I'm out of state when my husband calls to say that they don't have one. Not because of the rental place didn't save us one, because they didn't, but it was because the insurance company had never called to set up the rental. So they got it all figured out, and put us in a Dodge Neon. A new one. Well, 43k miles on it, but not very old. SO...then a little later the guy at the body shop calls me to tell me that they have my truck and ordered the parts but they don't have a work order. Turns out that the lady who was working on my claim was "no longer with the company". So none of it was done. But it got all figured out finally.

Now, back to the Dodge. So this is a new vehicle. And I notice yesterday while stopped at a stop sign, I think I get bumped from behind. My initial reaction is of course....Great, I just got hit in a rental car...But I didn't. I look back and the guy behind me is a half a car link behind me stopped so I know he didn't bump me. So it happens again. It dawns on me at that time that the engine was lunging. LUNGING! ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE! Then I notice today just how hard it is to turn on the blinkers, press on the gas petal and the brake petal. Now, my truck is not that new. It will be a year old in Dec and my blinkers, brake and gas petals and the seats are just as soft and fluid to use and set in as they were when I bought it.

If I'd bought a car home that was like that and after a few thousand miles was like that, I'd be pissed! I would absolutely throw a fit. Especially to know that the vehicle is probably newer if not the same year as my truck and the only reason that the miles are on it is because it is a rental. I'm just disappointed to say that the car reminds me of a Cobalt in feeling on the inside. Now as far as performance is concerned, hands down, the get up and go is definitely there and the cornering and handeling is great! But the inside feel and the lines are terrible.

Well, actually, this is kind of a short blog, but I wanted to get that out there. Holla!

Todays thought...Bug caused accident.

Ok, so first off lets start with my summer this year. After my second cousin was burried in the beginning of April, I lost my grandpa on my daddy's side 15 days later. So you know...already by this time dealing with two losses in the family. Then my truck goes in the shop. They run over something in the truck and it has to go back into the shop for a little while longer. Then, if it doesn't get any worse, I lose my other living grandpa on my mama's side of the family, 60 days after my daddy's dad dies.

And just when I think that I can't handle any more...I wreck my brand new 8 month old truck this morning on my way to the doctors office who funny enough wanted to see how this new depression medicine was working on me that they put me on because of this episodic depression I am in due to all the loss in my family this year.

Ok so...here's me this morning, window rolled down because I'm smoking a cig on the way. At 40mph a freaking huge bug flies in the window, hits me in the face. So instinctively when you have something coming at your face you are going to protect your eyes and get the bug away. As I did this going around a corner I proceded off the road.

Now at this time, I look up and remember the last major car accident I was in I over corrected and instinctively know that if I over correct I am going to hit another car. So I hit the brakes lightly and pull up on the road, hitting a mailbox. Now mind you, at this time I think that the grass that I ran through was just about level with the road. No ditch or anything, just someones yard. I get slowed down and pull into a driveway slightly down the road from the victimized mailbox and get out and look at the truck. I have run this poor mailbox (with no knowledge of its impending doom) down the entire passenger side of my truck. Now I can definitely give props to Ford for making their trucks high enough that my mirror was spared!

So, I call Pooh Bear, he first and foremost makes sure I'm ok, then he asks me what happened. I procede to tell him, call the police dept and the insurance company and wait. When I call the police department the ask what has happened and I explain that with as much damage is done to my truck, the mailbox has got to be smashed. The police only took 5 minutes. Well I get back into my truck to pull it further down this persons driveway so that the officer can pull off the road and into the driveway and take down my information on the report and I realize that the stupid bug is still alive. Yeah!

So he asks me what happened. I procede to spill what I had done and he tells me to get my drivers license and registration while he goes down to see the mailbox. I wait for a couple more minutes and he comes back and tells me that the mailbox is a little bit damaged but can be banged out with a hammer and be fine.

This is where my thought title comes from...He procedes to tell me that now that he knows that I'm ok and that I have explained the story he has to tell me that when he got the call to come out to the address of the driveway I was at, they just told him on the radio that it was an accident and on the little screen of the computer in his squad car it popped up...Bug Caused Accident. He'd told me that it was definitely a first for him, but now that I had explained it, it made a little more sense. So, we laughed, the police dept left a voice mail for the people who's mailbox I mutilated and left a card for them so that they could call him and get my info and my insurance info.

So, Pooh Bear gets there to make sure I'm ok and we go down the road to see this poor mailbox and the yard to make sure I hadn't done too much damage. Turns out while looking at it, I did not go off into someones yard. I went off into a 3 foot ditch. And looking at my tire tracks, I tell you now...it was the grace of God that kept me from rolling my truck over when I come up out of there. Its amazing looking at it, that I came out with my passenger side being marred and nothing else.

Well, thats about all for tonight. I'm gunna eat me some grub, drink me some wine and hit the hay. Props and much Thanks to God. Love ya man!

Todays thought...My pet peeves

Why is it that most men cannot clean up their whiskers from the bathroom sink when they get done shaving? Then it gets stuck on the sink and when us women go to clean the bathroom at the end of the week, it takes an act of congress signed by the Pope himself to get the stupid things off of there! And another thing, no my Pooh Bear...and I must give him credit for this, does not leave the toilet seat up but some other men in my family do. What is all of that about? It obviously takes some effort to put the thing up, but why does it take so much more effort to put it down?

Then, I really can't stand when you are driving somewhere, and the person in front of you or beside you is on a cell phone and not paying attention to anything they are doing. That really frosts my cookies! HELLO PEOPLE! Do you think that whoever you are talking to is going to be upset with you if you tell them you'll call them back, or if they know that by talking to them you are got into an accident or caused an accident? There is a simple little device out there that is made for that situation. Its called a HANDS FREE DEVICE! Its really simple and comes in various shapes and sizes. There's even one out there that will convert your radio in your car to the speakers for the telephone. That way if you get a call you can answer it. And there's also a function on most phones that automatically answers the phone for you if you are driving after the second ring. Then you don't even have to touch the phone! What a novel idea huh? SHUT UP AND DRIVE! Or get a hands free device.

And another thing. Companies out there that have just automated systems and no way to talk to an actual person. You know I called one a long time ago and I kid you not, just for fun I guess it said on the system "Press 9 if you want to hear a duck quack". So of course being the curious person that I am, yep, I pressed 9. And sure enough, I heard a duck quack, then it took me back to the main menu. But do you understand where I'm coming from. Why aren't there more companies out there that give you the option to talk to an operator instead of you having to jump through hoops to get there? Its like you have to go through 10 different options to get to the option to talk to an operator. And I thought I had a way around this at one time. Before, you could just keep pressing 0 and it would take you to an operator eventually. Oh no! They've caught on to that. If you press 0 now the system will just disconnect the line. Or it will say that you've made an invalid choice and to listen to the menu again.

Oh, and here's a great one. Why is it that when you are watching a show, the season finale is a cliff hanger? Is it because they want you to come back and watch the show when the season premier starts? HELLO! Obviously if you are watching the show, enough to see the season finale, then you like it enough to watch the new season premier! Cliff hangers should be saved for the middle of the season. That way you can see the conclusion the next week instead of having to wait 6 months for the new season to start.

On that note though, I have to admit, while I am slightly dismayed that a show anymore will only have about 20 episodes instead of 28-30 per season, the quality of the shows are much better than they used to be. The story lines are better and the all around quality is better.

And on that subject, movies and some shows that will progress slowly and then right up at the end try to push so much stuff in the last 15-20 minutes of the show or movie that it ruins it! Why do they do that? Just stay the pace! If you're coming up to a major ending, then liven the pace up a little bit through out the whole movie or show. Its like they start shooting and then realize..."Oh crap, we have this much stuff to put in the last 20 minutes". Hell make it a longer movie or show. Like Ghost Hunters. LOVE THAT SHOW! And do you know what they did for the season finale this year? They made it an hour and a half. So that they could do what they wanted to without compromising anything in the show.

Anyway...that is my rant for the day. Its about time for me to get going. Holla!

Todays thought...My love of my truck.

Ok first off let me just tell you, my truck is the shiznit! I love it. I love everything about it. Well recently I had to have it in the shop. I have to say I was a little disappointed with the service I received. First off, yes, they gave me a rental, puting me into a car that was not my truck. I felt like I was setting on the ground when I rode in it. Then of course you have the whole rental car insurance thing and was totally worried I was gunna ding the stupid rental.

Ok so the place that was fixing it told me that they would have my truck fixed in 3 days. I dropped it off on a Friday and was supposed to be able to pick it up on Monday. Tuesday at the latest. Ok, so here's me, la dee da awaiting a call on Monday to tell me that my baby was ready. Nope! I call them. NO call back. So, on Tuesday I call again. They tell me that one of the parts is on back order but not to worry about it. While I'm thinking about it, my a/c wasn't putting out like it should so I ask them to look at that as well.

Well, guess what....Yep! There was a leak somewhere in the system and they had to track it down and fix it. So now, its going to be Thursday before I can get my baby out of the shop. Well, Thursday morning, I get the call. Well Pooh Bear has the rental because as I said, didn't want the responsibility of a ding or scratch on their precious rental car. (You'll understand my discust in a moment). Well Pooh Bear can't get off work in time to take the rental car back and pick up the truck so it stays there until Friday.

Finally, Friday comes, he goes to pick up the truck. I haven't heard from him and I know that he's been a the shop for a little while so I give him a quick call to see whats up. Turns out, they have back into something with my truck while it was in the shop! The tail light on the passenger side is scarred from something that had white paint on it, there is a nice scratch down the tailgate and the bumper has been scratched to pieces as it rounds to the drivers side.

Ok now my thing is not the fact that they bumped into something. My thing is the fact that they didn' t have the decency to tell us up front! Yeah, Pooh Bear had to walk around the truck and inspect it and it's a good thing he did because if he hadn't, and we had pulled out into the street with it like that, they could have said at that time that there was no proof they had done the damage.

So, of course, as you can imagine, discusted, he tells the guy there at the shop that the damage was done there and he agrees to fix it for us. I was so upset when I heard this. Now, my baby has to go back into the shop for an undisclosed amount of time so they can replace the bumper, tail light and buff out and repaint the tailgate.

My point of this thought is simple. Please watch your vehicles when you take them to the shop and get them back. Go through and do an inspection when you get it back because if they did do damage to it at the shop, and you drive off their property they do not have to fix it. I don't care if you take it to a no name shop, your best friends garage or a dealership. It doesn't matter. Do a walk around. Because if it was damaged, you'll be glad you did.

On a lighter note, I had a definite need a camera moment today. And did I have one? NO! I am a HUGE supporter of Ford. As you can tell from my website. I love my truck, my Pooh Bear loved his before we got together, and my mother-in-law, as well as my mama and daddy love theirs as well. I know it may sound bad but after my experience with a Chevy, since I got my Ford I have always thought it would be funny if I could get a picture of a Ford towing a new Chevy down the road. As Ford's Slogan says "Built Ford Tough!" Ok, so here's me today. On my way to see my Pooh Bears mama and daddy, what goes driving down the road as we wait for traffic? An F-150 Flare Side with a chain and in tow a Chevy Camaro. Yep! Saw it with my own eyes! I rolled laughing and told Pooh Bear that I needed a camera so desperately. He just shook his head and smiled at me. Then told me if I had a camera phone....yada yada yada.

Well, I guess I'm gunna get going now. Off to dinner is me, then probably to bed. Been a long day. Have a great one everyone, and make sure you do a walkaround...HOLLA!

Todays thought...The DaVinci Code

Ok, so many people are up in arms about this movie? Why you ask? Some theorize its because it poses the question of whether or not Jesus had a child with Mary of Magdelene. Others say its because the movie focuses on the Sacred Femanine in turn giving women the power and not the men. Here are a few thoughts of mine.

First off Mary of Magdelene was not a prostitute. Even the Catholic Church came out and made a formal apology that they were wrong and it was a case of mistaken identity. Second, upon reading another comment on a website recently I learned that Mary of Magdelen was one of the 12 deciples and was at the crucifixion. So, in saying that...isn't it possible that they were infact married?

Take a close look at the bible itself and you will see what I mean. The Old Testament ends with Jesus being 13 years old. The New Testament is comprised of Jesus life from the time he was 30 until he was Crucified at the age of 33. What happened during those 17 years of his life that is not mentioned in the bible? Jesus was a man, was he not. For a few short years of his life he was a man. That at this time now holds to the question..."If you prick me, do I not bleed?"...Come on people! God wanted Jesus on this earth as a man. So that he could see sin and sin himself. And then die for our sins so that all we had to do was ask for forgiveness.

Why is it you have to take this so hard in what you believe? Tell me this, if Jesus did have a child, would that make him any less divine? If he got married and had a family...would that make him any less of a holy man? No, that would make him a man. Which is what he was. A flesh and blood man that walked on this earth for 33 years and performed several miracles along the way. A divine spirit that was Crucified then Resurrected 3 days later. A man that quite possibly wanted a companion, just like everyone else on this Earth today. What is so wrong with wondering? What is so wrong with posing the question?

As a God fearing Christian of faith, do you think for one second that this has made me doubt or question my faith? Not in the slightest little bit. Not by one single thread. Does it make me pose the question if what I've been taught may have been a little mistaken or even shall I venture to say misleading? Maybe. But does that change the way I feel in my heart? Does it change the way I feel about the MAN that did die on the cross and rise 3 days later for my sins so that I don't have to do that? Not in the least little bit. If anything it makes me feel closer to him. Atleast now if I pray at night because my husband is driving me crazy, I know that he can smile down on me, giggle and say "I know exactly how you feel honey."

Now I have to go onto another thing that I've seen in a recent entry. Everybody is so literal when it comes to the book of Genesis. People say on the 1st day God created Earth. On the 2nd day he created Light and Dark. On the thrid day... and so on and so forth. Everybody says that it's scientifically impossible to create all of this 1 day at a time in 7 days. Ok, first off...HELLO! HE'S GOD! HE CAN DO WHATEVER HE WANTS! Second off, who's to say that 1 day in Gods life is nothing compared to 1 day in ours? Ok, I heard a joke a long time ago. This may explain a few things.

A man is having a discussion with God one day. He asks, "God, what is 1000 years to you?" God tells the man "My son, 1000 years to you is but a day to me." The man thinks about it and says "Ok God, what is $1,000,000 to you?" God replies to the man "My son, $1,000,000 to you is but a penny to me." Thinking long and hard, the man then asks "God, Can I have a penny?" God say "Sure you can. Tomorrow."

Do you see what I'm saying people. Don't take things so literal. And DONT let a book of FICTION change your way of thinking and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Thats not what it's intended for. Its intended for a great story about a Professor on his journeys through the world. So what if it poses a question? So what about the question? Is it such a bad thing that we think about things and wonder? Is it such a bad thing that we question about the world around us? No. God wants us to be curious! And if you take those questions and start to doubt your faith as a Christian, then you need to take a serious look at your faith all together.

Thats all I have for tonight. Thank you Ron Howard and Dan Brown for making such an awesome story into one of the greatest movies of all time.

Todays thought...My thought on immigration laws

Now, I am probably about to make a whole world of people mad, but before you get ticked about the statement I am about to make, let me finish my point. This is my opinion only and not intended to offend anyone by saying this.

Ok, right now there is a huge controversy going on about the illegal immigrants in this country making a life for themselves. Now in saying that, I have no problem with someone coming to this country to make a better life for themselves. As you've seen in a previous blog of mine that included an e-mail, every one of us (aside from the Native Americans) are direct descendents of immigrants. But my thing on that is, our ancestors did it legally.

However, in saying that, we have no one to blame but ourselves. Think about it. Who is hiring these illegal immigrants? American citizens. Legal immirgrants that don't want to have to pay taxes on their labor and know that they can pay Juan a lot cheaper wages that John. If people all around this world did not know that all they had to do was come over here illegaly and get hired on by someone looking for a worker like them, we wouldn't have this major issue that we have today.

Point in case, where I used to live there was a man from another country that came over to this country to make a better life for him and his family. This has been some 20+ years ago. He got legal citizenship over here, learned to speak fluent English, opened up his own place of business, sent for his wife and children and to this day, still runs this very successfull business and his family are now legal citizens as well with the children out of school and successful in their jobs.

I don't care what your race, color, home language, belief, hair color, clothes or anything else. If you're over here to legitimately make a better life for you and your kin, the by all means, you should not have any problems doing it legally. Now I understand, yes, it takes time and money to do this, but if you are genuinely over here to make a life for yourself permenantly, then you won't mind taking the time like that man did, learn the language, get yourself legal and then you have nothing to worry about.

I'm going to end this now by saying, I love my country, I love my heritage and I love this God fearing, English speaking scociety that we live in.

Todays thought...Memories

To those of you who don't know, my grandpa is very sick. So I thought I would dedicate tonights blog to him. By remembering all of the funnies. This might be a book by the time I'm done, so prepare to laugh and get some popcorn and a cold drink. Or hot drink, whatever yer flaver.

First off let me tell you, when I was born, it was in the afternoon. 9 hours prior to my grandpa's birthday, there I was. My grandpa gave my mama absolute grief and wanted to know why she couldn't wait 9 more hours to have me. She told him he'd just have to accept an early birthday present because they weren't putting me back in. Pretty comical.

From the time I was knee high to a grasshopper, my grandpa was my guy. We were inseperable. They say that I used to set in his lap for what seemed like hours and fall asleep when I was little. I remember we'd be riding in the car and we'd go down a hill and he would whistle. And I would hear it. And for years I'd ask him if he was the one whisteling. He'd tell me no every time. I knew I'd heard something whistle every time we'd go down a hill. I knew I wasnt crazy. Well, finally when I was about 18, riding down the road with my grandpa, looked in the rearview mirror and found out he was whisteling every time we went down the hill. I looked at him and I blurted out "You do whistle! I knew it was you! You kept telling me it wasn't and it's been you this whole time!" Of course he was in total denial. "Uh uh. What are you talking about?". I was like "Yep grandpa, BUSTED!" We laughed about it all the way home.

He was also very big on making sound effects when watching Star Trek. He'd make sounds of things exploding and phasers going off and everything. He was such a comic when it came to watching the TV.

Then one time when I was younger, you remember them Coca-Cola Polar Bears that they had at Hardee's a few years back? Well I wanted one so bad I could taste it. My daddy had told me that I couldn't have one. Ah, but I had the ACE. My grandpa was coming down to visit for the holidays and I knew being the only girl out of 5 of us, yep, my grandpa was gunna come in there and buy me one. Well, they get there, I ask my grandpa for one in front of my daddy. Of course my daddy tells me no, but you know grandpas. He winked at me. Well, my grandma, aunt and me go to...where else for lunch...yep. Hardees. She got one for me, one for my grandpa and one for my aunt. So, we get home, I show my daddy what my grandma had bought me with such pride, he turns right to my grandma and says "Thanks mom." My grandpa turns to him and says, "I was going to buy her one anyway". Come to think of it, my poor daddy. Didn't stand a fighting chance when I asked my grandpa for something.

Then, I don't remember this, but my grandma likes to tell me about it a lot. When my grandma and grandpa used to carry me for the night we'd go to dinner and what not then go home and make cookies (And eat the dough). Well (showing my age here a bit), back when there were no seatbelt laws they'd put me in the middle of the car in the front seat on the armrest. Well, my grandpa used to say "Come on Lady!" if there was a lady in front of us going slow. Well, at about 3 years old, they put me up there, and we were at a red light and out of my mouth came "Come on Lady!" in about the deepest tone of voice a little 3 year old girl could make. I roll laughing every time I hear that story. It never gets old.

And a few of my grandpa's loves since I've known him have been Alf and the California Rasins. And Oldsmobiles. Gotta throw that one in there. Then came my wedding. Got married on horseback and I'd told everyone there that they'd have to be in jeans to attend. Went strictly cowboy on my wedding. Well, my grandpa didn't even own a pair of jeans. But that was soon to change. I of course couldn't have a propper wedding without my mama and daddy, as well as my grandma and grandpa. So you know I had to let him slide without wearing jeans. I mean, come on, he was my grandpa! But he was the only one. Well, that day I'd decided, in all of the years I've known him, I had never, and I mean NEVER seen my grandpa in a pair of jeans. And I was gunna buy him some, for Christmas. So, Pooh Bear and I went out and found the hippest pair out there of Carpenter jeans and then we got a regular pair. Well, do you know, my grandpa loved them Carpenter jeans. The regular pair didn't fit him right so what did he do? Went back to the store and swapped them out for Carpenter jeans. Yep, that was all me.

Then came this most recent Christmas. I asked grandma what they needed if anything. She told me that they didn't have a dvd player in the livingroom. So, Pooh Bear and I come to the rescue, and buy them a dvd player for Christmas. Wouldn't you know it if my mama didn't call me Christmas Eve to tell me that while sitting at the dinner table my grandpa said that he'd never own a dvd player. Boy did I feel about 5" tall. Thats what we'd gotten him for Christmas. Everyone told me he laughed when he opened it up Christmas morning but that he liked it.

Then I remember one year we all went to Walt Disney World for the holiday. Well of course when you're there, you have to go to the Magic Kingdom. And while in the Magic Kingdom you have to visit the one place that you know when someone's been in there. Yall know where I'm going with this. Yep, the Small World exhibit. Let me just tell you, when we got out of there, my grandpa could have gone the rest of his life without hearing that song and it would not have hurt his feelings in the least little bit. So now was time for daddy's revenge. I wanted a watch that had come out. It had Mickey Mouse and his hands went all the way around and the numbers were little flags of different countries and when you pushed the little button on the side of it, what would you hear? What else...Its a Small World. Well, I walk into my grandpa's house just as proud as a tiger with its first catch and play my watch. I think if looks are worth a million dollars, the look of dread on his face, was worth ten million. It was so funny.

Well, I think I'm gunna end with my book now and say goodnight. Its time for some dinner so I've gotta get to it. I love you grandpa. You're still my guy, and you always will be.

Todays thought...A rant about an ad. Now, I'm about to talk pro Bush again, so if you don't wish to hear my thoughts on it, check back in a couple of weeks for a new posting.

Ok, so I saw an ad on Google no doubt "Should Bush be Impeached". Now, I had to click on it because they were discussing issues about Bush "lying about Iraq, $3 gas prices and illegaly wiretapping Americans". Ok, now, here's my problem with this. Lets just take one issue at a time.

First off we have the lies about Iraq. Supposedly he lied about Iraq in order to invade. Supposedly he led us to believe that there were weapons of mass distruction to justify invading Iraq. Ok, now here's my thing on this. Saddam was proven to be connected with the terrorists that attacked us. They are saying that Bush broke the UN Charter and the Nuremberg Charter thus breaking the treaty with the UN. Now, what most people either don't know or just flat out refuse to see, those rules do not apply if you are attacked first by someone who is not following those rules. Lets break this down a little more laymens terms shall we? Ok, you and I set in a room. We have a written agreement that we will not hit eachother in the face, we will just slap eachothers hand. Now, after a while of slapping eachothers hands, I decide I'm going to hit you in the face. Are you going to just slap my hand? NO! Not anybody who has any self dignity. You're going to hit me back in the face. That is what we have here.

We could even go biblical with this subject. The bible says Turn the other Cheek. Ok. We did. We turned the other cheek when we got attacked in '93. We didn't do anything in '93 even though we were told that they would be back to finish the job and bring the towers down. We got attacked again and guess what, now both cheeks are red. What do you do then. Turn the other cheek and wait for them to make it bleed? NO! You take action. The bible says turn the other cheek but the bible doesn't say anything about being stupid and letting people stomp on us because we keep turning that cheek now does it?

And yes, maybe when we went in there we were lead to believe that there were weapons of mass destruction and there were none found. But guess what, we found the means to make those weapons of mass destruction. So then everyone gets all up in arms because just the means to make the weapons were found and not the actual weapons. WHAT!? Think about this logically, if you had a neighbor that had the means to make a bomb that he was going to put in your house, and you knew that he would build this bomb and put it there, would you rather get in there and get it out of there when it was just the materials, or would you wait until there was a bomb and then try to go in there and get it. Oh but wait, we don't know that he was going to use the materials to build these weapons. Hello! If you have all the materials on the table setting next to some step by step instructions labled "How to build a pipe bomb", what are you going to do with it? Oh, thats right, you're going to build an enema.

Next we go to the $3 gas. Ok, so the main thing about that is oh yeah, Bush has business connections to the oil industry and since he's making a profit off of it, they are raising the gas prices. Again I say...WHAT!? Where are you people from? Would you like to know the real reason the gas prices have gotten so high? Here's a thought, THERE'S NOT ENOUGH TO GO AROUND ANY MORE! Face it people, all around the world they use crude oil for energy, asphalt and thats right, conversion in to good old Gasoline and motor oil. Why do you think they keep coming out with hybrid vehicles. Not just for the air quality. I'm not saying that the oil is going to run out tomorrow, but lets face it, we've been depleting the worlds oil supply since it was discovered and the more things that are built that need oil to run, the faster its going to go.

Now we move on to illegaly wire tapping American citizens. Ok, no one has ever heard of Homeland Security? Come on? If you're not a terrorist, then its not going to matter if you are being "tapped" or not. The Men in Black are not going to come in your door if a conversation is overheard that you are a Democrat. The Presidents advisors are not going to post it on the news that Sally Somebody in Anywheretown Va commited adultry with the poolboy. They look for key words being said during a conversation and you're pretty well left alone. Do you think for one second that I care if the governement is watching me type this blog entry right now? No. I hope they let Bush see it so he can know that there are some good down home redneck supporters our there that are rooting for him and don't think he needs to be impeached.

Well anyway, thats my rant for the day. I think I'm done for now. In ending I say, use your heads people. Don't buy into the media about all of this. Bush is just a man doing his job to protect our society from people out there who want to tear it down for what we believe and how we live. With that, I bid you good night.

Holla!

Todays thought...an update

Hey all. Just an update. I know its been like forever since I've blogged. Nothing major going on, just the same ole same ole. Saturn is doing great and Puck is walking now. Crazy huh? On that note, Lil Joker is standing up on his own now as well. Kids grow up so fast. Sniper Jr is about to be 3 in a couple of months. And Lil Floor is going to be going through her terrible 2's. It doesn't seem possible that just last week they weren't even walking yet. My cupboards get more and more full. And I have to admit, I love it. There's baby bottles here, sippy cups, baby spoons, as well as a change of clothes, and while Floor doesn't know it yet, the kids are about to get their own plates and bowls over here too. Gunna hit Wally World. Only going in there with $20. The $50 rule still applies to that place.

Saturn is coming home for about a week in a couple of months. I am so excited and cant wait to see her again. Its been almost a year since I've seen her and been able to hang out and just chill on the couch. On that note, I so need to get down to see My Munchkins mama and My Munchkin as well as her little brother. Pooh Bear and I are going to have to take a weekend and go see them. It's been almost 6 months since I've seen either one of them as well. At times I really hate living so far away from some of the people that mean the most to me. Seeing them is so few and far between. Not to discredit those who I do get to see on a normal basis at all don't get me wrong. I'm blessed that I get to see Floor, Sniper and the family as much as I do. I get to watch the kids grow up. Get to see some of their firsts, hear them talk, and watch them grow. I wouldn't change that for anything in the world. But on that note, for those close to me that I can't see on a normal basis, I miss the firsts and watch the kids grow up in pictures. I'm not complaining, I love the pictures, but sometimes I wish I could be there more to share the moments as well.

My mama is doing great. Her Cochlear Implant is developing more and more. She's hearing things like the fridge running, the coffee pot and the other night she heard the TV in the living room from the dining room. I'm so proud of my mama. She's doing so good.

Well, I guess thats about it for todays update on all. All is going pretty good on this end. Pooh Bear and I are doing great, loving the truck and enjoying eachother more and more every day. We are coming up on 4 years of marriage and I couldn't be happier. Well, I'm gunna get going now. More later.

Todays thought...Idiots and the weather.

Ok, so, this morning, I'm driving to work in a thunderstorm. Nothing major, it's not like the sky was falling. Well, ok, if you want to consider the rain falling in sheets as the sky falling, then it was, but COME ON! It was not the end of the world. It was a thunderstorm. Its like, people think that just because its raining, you can drive stupid? NO! That's the time when you need to slow down and look for standing water. And I mean there was hydroplaning everywhere. But if you drove under the speed limit, instead of insisting that you are invincible and still driving over the speed limit, then everyone might make it where ever they are going safely.

Now, I am by no means the best driver in the world, but, in saying that...I do believe that you should not drive stupid when its raining or when the weather is bad. You know, my daddy told me once that the posted speed limit on any road, is only for when the conditions are right. Think about that for just a second. When its a sunny day, and the road is dry and you are driving down a road that is posted 45, hell, drive 50. I do.

But when you're driving down that same road and you can see that someone unzipped the bottom of the cloud on you, don't go 45. Don't go 50. Drive sensibly. Do you honestly think that a cop is going to pull you over and give you a ticket for doing 10 miles under the speed limit when the weathers bad? Um, let me think about that...NO! First off, if its raining that hard, do you think he's even going to be able to see you? Nope. Radar might pick it up, but when it does, and reads that you're going 35 in a 45...what do you think is going through that cops head? I'll tell you, he's probably thinking "Glad I'm tryin to catch speeders instead of driving in this crap."

In saying earlier that I drive 50 in a 45mph zone, don't take that as saying that I do that on every road either. Sadly to say, as young as I am, I drive more like my daddy that even he does. I'm one of those drivers that piss you off because I drive 15mph in a 15mph zone, I believe in the hundred foot rule (refer to blinker blog), I believe in blinkers, and I try to keep atleast 1 carlink per 10 mph between me and the car in front of me so that if I have to, I can stop. I drive like this because I choose to. I opt to drive as if I have my niece and nephews in my car because I've been on both ends of a wreck. I've wrapped my car around a tree and I've been rear ended. And as interesting as those video games make it look, it's really not that fun.

Ok, so getting off my soap box about this, use your head. Don't fly down the interstate when there's standing water in rush hour traffic. Don't fly down a little back road when you're on your way to work. Be safe and use your head. Especially if the weather is bad. Give yourself plenty of time to get where you're going and help everyone to get there safe. And don't be in so much of a hurry to get somewhere. If you need groceries, the grocery store will still be there when you get there. The food will still be there. Unless they call for snow. Your bill companies all have slots in the door to pay your bills. And your favorite TV show will air again. Or you can just wait until the seasons over and buy it on DVD. Be careful and be safe. I guess that's about all for today. I'm gunna get going for now. My soap is recorded and waiting on me to hit play and watch.

Today's thought....Happy New Year

I know, I'm slightly delayed in my efforts this year. Been very busy. Christmas was great! Pooh Bear and I got each other a truck for Christmas. It is a beautiful F-150 and looks much like the one on the top of my web-page. Christmas was quiet. I'm very blessed to get along so well with my in-laws. My mama and daddy and lil bro went home for Christmas this year so Pooh Bear and I spent the night with his parents and woke up Christmas morning there and opened presents. It was great! We had so much fun and mom actually took me with her to meet her dad and put a Christmas tree on his grave site. It was very serene. I felt very honored to be there and included in this yearly tradition.

And now time to say good-bye to '05 and hello to '06. 2005 has been a very busy year. In February Oklahoma went into the hospital and was once again diagnosed with brain cancer. We knew at that point it was only a matter of time.

April 1st my mama went in and got her cochlear implant. It was very cool to find that a few weeks later after it had healed, they were able to activate it and she could hear. April 11th Pooh Bear and I spend an awesome 3 year anniversary and were able to spend some time with really good friends of ours up in the mountains. April 14th the news came. Oklahoma had passed away. I had so many mixed emotions about it. I mean, we had just found her not 14 months before after 35 years of looking, and had so little time to spend with her. On the other hand, my mama no longer has to wonder where she is. She knows.

May was good. So many birthdays, so many people turning a year older. On a lighter note though, my second nephew was born. Yep, if you remember from my previous blogs, Lil Joker was born on Memorial Day. With Floors birthday being the day after, she couldn't help but have an awesome birthday this year. It was so cool!

In July I was moved again at work. Sometimes I get frustrated at the constant change but at other times, I realize its good. Keeps me from getting bored. I once again had to say good-bye to my old team but I got to meet a new team. Let me tell you, I was as scared as a puppy in a thunderstorm, but it was great. I love my new team and my new boss is just awesome. What was I so worried about?

September was slightly busy with birthdays but nothing major to report, but October was busy. Bad Karma for cars month as in previous blogs, the hundred dollar wonder car (AKA Baby Tang) was rear ended. And that just about covers the year. Christmas like I said was quiet and nice and New Years was awesome. Got to spend my Christmas when my parents got home and got to be there with my lovedone's to watch the ball drop and toast with wine. And of course kiss Pooh Bear. Funny enough though, we were all in bed 10 minutes later.

All in all, I'd have to say it's been a pretty good year. Saturn and I have kept in constant contact and she will graduate sooner than realized. Which is awesome. The quicker she graduates, the quicker she'll be home. Puck is doing awesome and on the kids note, Lil Floor and Sniper Jr are doing great. Lil Joker is about to start crawling on his own any day now if he hasn't already and they are all doing great. And my Munchkin is doing great as well as her younger brother. I saw her for the first time in a while sadly. As easy as it is to pick up the phone and say hello to my Munchkins Mama, we live far enough away that it is so hard to get out there to see the family. My Muchkin is getting so big. I can't believe the transformation. Its hard for me to see her as a young lady instead of a little girl. I can't imagine how her mama must feel. She looks more and more like her mama every time I see her. Muchkin, when you read this, don't break too many hearts! You're really turning into a beautiful young lady. Keep doing good in school. You make everyone proud to know you and you have a smile like your mama's. You can light up any room you walk into. Love You Muchkin. Don't grow up too fast. Enjoy your childhood.

On that note, to all of my family and friends, you all know I'm only a phone call away. Hope everyone has a great '06. I'm Outty!

Todays thought...Merry Christmas.

Tis the season. Snow on the ground, presents under the tree, lights on the house, politically correct arguments? It has come to my attention lately that people are now arguing over whether or not to call it a Christmas Tree or a Holiday Tree. Now, I'm about to rant so if you don't want to read, close the window.

Last couple years it's been politically incorrect for me to say Merry Christmas to someone because it could be offensive. Oh, but wait, we can say Feliz Navidad. WHAT!? What is that? Is it just me or is that an oxymoron? Feliz Navidad is Merry Christmas in spanish. So we can say it in spanish, but not in english? HELLO! We are in America. Not Mexico.

Who cares if you come from America or not. If you celebrate Haunaka, Kwanzaa, Ramadan or Christmas, guess what...WE ARE ALL CELEBRATING FOR THE SAME REASON! There are some people that don't celebrate the season. For those of you who don't celebrate the holiday, I'm still going to tell you Merry Christmas.

Come on people. Grow up! If I come up to you and say Merry Christmas, and you celebrate Kwanzaa, say Happy Kwanzaa. Do you think I'm going to get offended? What would be the point? You believe how you believe, and I believe how I believe. Does this mean that we can't be cordial on the streets when we run into eachother? Does that mean that we can't be friends? Or does that simply mean that you and I celebrate Jesus birthday in different ways? You know, I heard something from MR2 that made a lot of sense. Children get offended at everything. Adults don't.

Well thats my rant. On a lighter note, Merry Christmas to everyone. Going to celebrate with the in-laws. I've been very blessed to get along really good with my in-laws. Hope everyone's Christmas is grand, and don't forget...the reason for the season.

Happy Birthday Jesus

Todays thought...A haunting.

Ok, so most of you who know me know the history and story of my aunt. If you don't, I call her Oklahoma and in previous blogs I have mentioned, she was missing for 35 years, we found her, she moved here, was diagnosed with brain cancer and passed away just a little over a year after the first phone call.

So, she moved here in Sept, around Oct she goes into the hospital and it pretty much went down hill from there. Well, one night, I'm at my mama's house. Pooh bear and I decided like many times before to stay there. In the spare bedroom (Which my aunt slept in when she stayed there for a couple of months) there is a set of trundle beds which Pooh bear and I pull out and use when we stay.

Now to set the mood a little bit, there is a tv in the bedroom that will go to snow until it warms up, its an older television. Now this night, is around the beginning of October (a year after the cancer was diagnosed) and while over there I decide to go in there and turn the tv on and let it warm up. I go back into the dining room and am in there for about 30 minutes before I decide to go to bed.

I go in there, and the tv had been turned off. Now Pooh bear was in the livingroom crashed in my daddy's lazyboy. He had been asleep for about an hour. I know he hadn't been in there. So, not thinking too much about it, I turn the tv back on, let it do its thing and get ready for bed. I get into bed, reach down to get something out of the floor and have this overwhelming feeling that there is something under the bed. Now there is no room under the pull out bed for anyone to fit under there, but I could not shake this feeling.

So, I get my pillow and go down on the couch and crash there with Pooh bear in the livingroom. While down there I glance up for just a second and swear I can see someone standing in the walkway to the livingroom. I take a second look, and there is nothing there. Nothing.

So I get about an hours sleep, Pooh bear wakes up, gets me so we can go into the bedroom and I go with him. All through the night I keep hearing little bumps in the kitchen and dining room. At one point, Pooh bear actually was running to the restroom and I could have sworn for just a moment that he was running after someone. All night I'd felt like someone else was in that house besides my mama, Pooh bear and I.

Of course, I take time to process all of this in my brain and I call Saturn. Saturn and I go back a ways as you know and she's very into the spiritual afterlife. So I know I can tell her this and she will give me an outsiders opinion on the whole thing without thinking I'm nuts. First she tells me I need to tell my mama. Then she tells me to get a tape recorder and see if I can catch an EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon).

Now, if you've ever seen the movie White Noise, then you understand why I'm a little reluctant to do so. I don't have a recorder anyway. But, back to the story.

So, a couple of nights later (back at my own place now), I keep hearing stuff in my kitchen. Now I'm off work for a week and in the week I keep hearing these noises and begin to wonder if I'm actually hearing them or if my mind is just messing with me. And it's nothing serious. Just little things, like something falling off the counter, a fork falling in the sink, a cup shifting in the cupboard. Little noises.

At that point I decide to ask my mama if she's heard any goings on at her place as well. I tried to approach it very lightly because its still kind of a touchy subject and the last thing I wanted to do was to upset my mama. She's been through so much.

Sure enough, she's heard little things at home too at night. A silverware falling in the sink, someting shifting in the cupboard, a hose coming unwound, little noises just like I've heard. We talk about it more and more and realize that the same things are coming from both places. I come home that night and Pooh bear let the dog out and while he was getting her taken care of something hit my sliding glass door. Now occasionally Pooh bear will toss something at the door so that I can bring him something outside or what not. I peek my head out the door, ask him what he needed and he has no clue, because he hasn't thrown anything at the patio door.

Well, if I had any doubt before, the other night was the absolute kicker. Pooh bear and I pretty much spent the whole weekend at my mama and daddys house over the holiday weekend. Well when I went to bed one night and chaged my clothes, I set my jeans, in the bathroom floor over my bra. I'd done that the last two nights I was there. SO, ok, I wake up in the morning and guess what...my jeans are not in the bathroom floor where I'd left them. My bra was. But not my jeans. So, I ask Pooh bear if he had moved them. He hadn't touched them. I ask my mama if she'd moved them, she hadn't touched them. No body had really even been in the bathroom. That left my daddy. Well he wakes up and I find out that my jeans were in the bathroom floor when he went to bed the night before at 2am. When I looked around, we found my jeans in the bedroom floor, at the foot of the bed, where my aunt used to leave her dirty clothes from the night before when she was staying there.

So, you can call me stupid, you can call me crazy, I don't care what you call me. I know the truth. My aunt is still hanging around. And she's got quite the sense of humor, to let us know that she's still here. I talk to her from time to time. And when I do, she usually doesn't mess with us while we are sleeping like she did that first night.

So Oklahoma, if you're watching me type this or if you're with my mama when she reads this, we know your here. We almost enjoy the little things now. We know your sense of humor is definitely still in tact and we miss you like crazy. We've missed a lot over the last 35 years, and I wish we'd had more time to get to know you. However, respectfully though, you really kinda freaked me out the other day. But I love you anway. Miss ya.

Todays thought...Invisible Blinkers.

This is a serious problem people. We are driving around every day using our blinkers and we don't know that they are invisible to the persons that are behind us. This is causing an epidemic of rearended cars and fender benders and even the occasional side swipe.

This is real. I know that some of the drivers out there got their drivers license out of a Cracker Jack box (Refer to Nov 19th entry), but I know that it's not this many people. Be conciouse of your blinkers people. Make sure that they work. I've been rearended. Although mine wasn't because of a blinker malfunction, more often than not, it is. We can avoid this by following these simple instructions upon purchase of a new vehicle.

Before you even test drive the vehicle...
1. You or the salesperson get to the back of the vehicle.
2. Stand and position yourself about 20 feet behind the vehicle.
3. Whomever is in the vehicle at the time, turn on your left blinker (If you need help with the location of the blinker on the inside of the car, refer to the owners manual)
4. After making absolute certain the left blinker works (Feel free it a couple of times), turn on your right bliner.
5. Check periodically to make sure they are still working properly. About once every 6 months.

That's it everyone. Follow these 5 easy steps and your blinker problems will be cured.

Well, thats all for tonight. C-ya l8er.

Todays thought...Cracker Jacks, and my take on the movie Crash.

Actually, we'll start with the movie Crash. OH MY GOSH! IT WAS AWESOME! Really makes you think about the world around you. It is extremely involved and very intense. I think its about time someone does a movie like this that talks about the issues. In my opinion it was very well done and a must see. It talks about the racial topic from every aspect of it and almost every walk of life. It is a very real movie. And it comes full circle. So, my take on it, it is a MUST SEE! I think everyone should see this movie. Only if once. I will open your eyes.

Now onto Cracker Jacks. I love Cracker Jacks. I have ever since I was a kid. You always got these good prizes in the bottom of the box and it was awesome. But for me, it was a real treat to get Cracker Jacks. We didn't get them very often. I was told by my parents that it was because they didn't want us rotting our teeth out on the popcorn. But as I've grown older, I found out the truth. They didn't want me having it because they didn't want me to find the great prize in the bottom of the box.

Yeah, like, you know when you go to the store, and they have those crane machines? And you see all of these crap prizes but way back in the back, where it's impossible to get it, there sets this really cool prize. The good prize that you spend $10 trying to get and walk out of there with a couple of friendship bracelets and a tube of lip balm that wasn't even supposed to be in there because it fell out of the guys pocket while he was stocking the machine.

Well with Cracker Jacks, the great prize, is none other than your very own drivers license. Thats right. Right there pictureless so you can put your face on it, fill in your information and get behind the wheel of the car. People, this is the real reason that you didn't get Cracker Jacks unless on special occasion when you were younger. It wasn't because your parents didn't want your teeth to rot out. It was because your parents don't want you getting your drivers license before you turned 16.

Yep, THE MYSTERIES ARE EXPLAINED! A drivers license really does come in Cracker Jack boxes and some of the idiots on the road are proof that they're still in there. You may have to eat 10,000 boxes before you get the good prize, but hey, it saves you from having to go to the DMV to get one. Although, with all of the money you spent on the Cracker Jacks trying to get the good prize, you should have just went to the DMV, took the test, figured out what you were supposed to do and paid $8 to get one there.

Well, thats about all I have for today. I bid you good night. I have 40 more boxes of Cracker Jacks to open and see if my license is in there.

Todays thought...An update on me and mine.

So Saturn called me last week to tell me that she was going to be here for a couple of days. At first glance, I was elated to hear this news. Then it hit me. She in the previous week was not going to be able to make it down as planned for Puck's birthday. This was not a pleasure trip. As I'm sure you've figured already, a family member has passed.

So here's me, in all of our brilliance, my mama and I decide we're going to send flowers to the funeral home to suprize her. Not sure of the deceased's name, I put her grandmothers last name on the flowers. My mama orders them, and the morning of the funeral, they call me and say that they don't have anyone there at the funeral home with Saturn's grandmothers last name. At this time it's too late to call Saturn because she's at the funeral home. So all I have to go by is the time of the funeral and the name of the funeral home.

Needless to say, the flourist tried to deliver, the funeral home wouldn't accept them and they don't get delivered. So after the funeral, Saturn calls me and says that her grandmother was going to go pick them up at the flourist on Monday. I realize it was the thought that counted but I really wanted Saturn to have this basket of flowers to take home with her.

So then Monday, I get this call from the flower people and they procede to tell me that they have contacted Saturns grandma and she wasn't going to make it to the flourist to pick up this basket and they were going to deliver it to her. No problem. Right? Nope, I get a call 10 minutes later telling me that they don't have a flourist that delivers that specific type of basket to her grandma's address but they did have a flourist that would deliver a different type of boquet to the home and they would not charge me anything extra for this. I told them to go ahead and do it. It was very nice that they offered this to me and went out of their way to do what they could. I do appreciate that. But to be honest, if it happens again, I'm just going to send a care package, after the fact.

Saturn, I am sorry for your loss. You know I'm here if you need me. Let me know if there is anything at all that I can do for you in your time of loss. I offer my condolences to you and yours and hope you know you can call on me for anything. Love ya girlie. You know I'm here.
